Yan Oi Sei has been established since 10th of April 2003 in Auckland, New Zealand. We are grateful to be funded by Supporting Families in Mental Illness (Auckland) and to work in partnership with them. We also thank our other funding streams Counties Manukau District Health Board and previous funder Asian Health (Waitemata District Health Board). We greatly appreciate EastHealth Trust for allowing Yan Oi Sei to use their venue for our Psychoeducation sessions. |

Our group memebers come from a variety of backgrounds. We have members who are mental health service users, family members of these service users, mental health practitioners, registered psychiatric nurse, pharmacist, psychiatrist, university lecturer, experience facilitators and interested personnel. We all work on a voluntary basis and assist the basic day to day running of the trust and administration work. |

 Yan Oi Sei uses Mental Health Development approaches to design its services. Our focus is on building resilience among mental health service users, empowering them, their familiy and friends, as well as aiding in recovery and providing support for each other. |

Besides providing psychoeducation sessions in the community every month, Yan Oi Sei started providing indivudal support for mental health services users living in adult mental health residential rehabilitation facilities. Mental health residential rehabilitation is accessed through your local District Health Board. Please talk to you Community Mental Health Centre about residential rehabilitation services or needing individual cultural support. Our newsletter, published every 6 months has the most updated news of Yan Oi Sei. We would welcome anyone's stories, photographs, poems etc for publication in our next issue. So feel free to send your entries in! Copies of these newletters can be picked up at SF Aucklaknd offices, at our psychoeducation sessions or alternatively we can mail one to you! |
